Collective Labour Agreement is recognised as a factor with significant impact on a company’s human resources. Collective Labour Agreement in Portugal remained in a state of stagnation for several decades, held back by restrictive legislation which many considered retrograde in the light of the challenges posed by a global economy, although the Labour Code opened things up somewhat. The current legal framework contains flexibility and management solutions which must, however, be collectively negotiated. PLMJ has a team of lawyers with wide experience in collective agreement as a result of over 30 years of practice in this area, through ongoing involvement in negotiating collective agreements, also including conciliation, mediation and arbitration, and representing employers’ associations and companies in disputes arising from the application and interpretation of collective agreement provisions. “I would say is part of our DNA: to recognize the bond between the legal professional and the client.”
