The PLMJ Summer Training Course provides plenty of practice and new ideas to build on our professional as well as personal performance.
Inês Correia, 2008-09
The PLMJ Summer Training Course was a combination of surprise, learning and challenge: surprise as I didn’t know what to expect from day to day; learning, because I came into contact with new legal and personal realities, and challenge because that is how I looked at it from the beginning, in other words, as an experience that I had always wanted to have, regardless of any difficulties I might come up against.
André Barreiros, 2008-09
The PLMJ Summer Training Course was an experience which has only confirmed my desire to be a lawyer. During these four weeks, the Summer Training Course has given me the opportunity to feel like a lawyer, because of the kind of work I did, the responsibility I was given and the personal relationships I created with the different people I worked within inside and outside the firm. What contributed, much more than the importance of any of the work I was given, to the success of this training course, quite apart from the excellent level of organisation, was the fact that everyone at the office treated me in quite a relaxed manner, but always with a great underlying sense of professionalism which generated an excellent working environment. Every morning this month I have woken up looking forward to going to work and I hope that my professional future will bring me the same level of fulfilment as I have had working here for these last four weeks. As I’m almost at the end of the training course, the only thing I can say is that I have really enjoyed the experience. Not only because of everything I learned, although I have gained experience and added to my curriculum at the largest law firm in Portugal, but mainly because I’ve made many good friends within the office and this, for me, is the main feature of the training course. In fact, the spirit of camaraderie that exists within the office means that I already miss some of the friends I’ve made here, even before my training course ends. I have been extremely well received and well treated by everyone and so all that remains is to say thanks for the opportunity you gave me.
